Meet your instructors...
It wasn't until after college that I found my career in fitness. I graduated with a degree in Mass Communications and thought I would end up in a big city reporting the news... BUT God had different plans! After selling advertising for a brief while and being completely miserable I began to examine what my true passion was. I figured if I could find a career where my passion was I would be successful because I would enjoy doing what I did! I love fitness and people so thought I would put them together and see what happened! Having no experience I was hired on as a Fitness Consultant at the YMCA and the rest is history. Thirteen years later I've done a little bit of everything in fitness... kids fitness, teen training, senior fitness, weight loss programs, weight loss competitions, bootcamps, running groups, personal training, fitness incentive programs... but found my passion when I started teaching group exercise! There is nothing like pushing play to amazing music, standing in front of a group of people from various walks of life and uniting them for one hour. Motivating them and helping them realize that they really are that strong is what makes me smile! I love fitness but I love the people more!
I decided to bring my passion a little closer to home and started up Flock Fitness here in Liberty Hill. I love teaching in the community I live in. I feel like each one of the Flock are not just members I see a few times a week in class. They are friends who have a face outside the gym which make me all the more inspired to motivate them in class. I truly want everyone who comes to class to get more out of it than just a workout!
Health and Fitness has always been an important part of my life, but it wasn't until recently that I found a whole new passion for it. I met Maranda a couple of years ago and signed up for her bootcamp classes. Then she introduced us to Les Mills Body Combat and Body Pump.. and I was hooked! I recently became certified in Body Pump and plan to continue the process (and fun!) with other Les Mills programs. I graduated college from The University of Texas at Austin. I am married to my husband, James, and have two awesome kids, Colby and Avery. We live in Liberty Hill and love our community!
Within the past year I have become more involved in the gym and have started a desire to want to learn better ways to take care of myself, not only physically but nutritionally as well. I started taking Body Pump classes and from the very first class I absolutely loved it and wanted to learn more. I have come to love everything Les Mills has to offer. I am excited to continue my journey to learn and grow as an instructor. To be able to share that excitement with others is what it's all about. When I'm not at the gym I am usually with my husband and two boys enjoying the outdoors.
Fitness has always been my passion. I’ve done many different kinds of fitness programs. I was always a participant because that was my comfort zone and I never had the courage or confidence to pursue anything more. Being a mom of triplets and then 9 years later a precious little girl, I’ve spent a good part of my adult life raising kids. Outside the gym I love anything outdoors and spending time with my kids and husband Jeff. The gym was always a place for me to focus on me. As I was searching for a new fitness home recently, I thought about Flock Fitness. I have known Maranda from the years of standing in parent pick-up line at school. I knew she had a gym but didn’t know anything about it. The minute I walked through the door at Flock I knew this was my happy place. The vibe at Flock is amazing and contagious. The programs are awesome and challenge you on many levels. Body Pump is one of my favorites so when Maranda asked me if I would be interested in teaching I thought to myself “be brave you can do this!” Many encouraged and believed in me. The friendships I’ve made and the reconnecting with ladies I’ve known over the years have been life changing. Surroud yourself with people that make you hungry for life, touch your heart and nourish your soul and help you be the best version of you. I am so grateful I’ve found that at Flock Fitness. I thank God for giving me just what I needed. Be YOU. Do YOU. For YOU. Flock Strong!
Being from a small east Texas town, my passion for the sports/fitness world has been rooted in me since I could pick up a ball- playing all sports possible. Playing college basketball and majoring in sports medicine is really when my love for helping others took off. I couldn’t let my athletes feel like their career was over because of an injury, so I always felt that passion and sense of urgency to be of service whether it was through words of affirmation, presence, my silly sense of humor, rehabilitation, or preventive maintenance. Which led to a job in postural therapy- looking at the overall body and figuring out why your body is in chronic pain by taking you through corrective exercises, gait analysis and functional testing. All in all, God has rooted me here in the hill country and landed me a Ride Tribe punchcard. After seeing the sweat pool down by my bike after my first ride and a playlist that felt like I just danced the night away got me hooked! Months later God blessed me with an opportunity of becoming a Ride Tribe Chief and I couldn’t resist.
My mission in Ride Tribe is to allow you to ride your own authentic journey but challenging you along your terrain to evolve into the BEST version of yourself while bringing swag to the saddle.
